Introducing the New “Gut Check” Campaign.
At Purex, caring for Kiwi families goes far beyond providing soft, reliable toilet tissue. For years, we’ve proudly supported the Gut Foundation NZ, an organisation dedicated to improving Aotearoa’s gut health through education, awareness, and early detection.
Our partnership began with a shared belief: talking about gut health shouldn’t be embarrassing, it should be normal. That belief led Purex to become an early supporter of the Foundation’s well known Review Your Poo campaign, helping New Zealanders learn what their toilet habits can reveal about their overall wellbeing. By bringing humour, honesty, and practical information together, Review Your Poo sparked conversations in homes, workplaces, and communities across the country.
Today, that mission continues — and evolves.
Launching May 2026: “Gut Check” A Bold New Nationwide Initiative
This year, the Gut Foundation NZ is launching Gut Check, a bold, disruptive, and conversation‑starting campaign designed to help all New Zealanders take control of their gut health. Purex is proud to support this important next step.
Gut Check encourages every Kiwi to take action across three simple steps:
1. Self Check – Know Your Normal
Notice changes in your bowel habits, energy or mood, your gut talks to you first. Fuel your gut with fibre rich foods, hydration, and regular movement.
2. Professional Check – Get the Facts
Talk to your GP about what’s normal for you and when to get screened. Ask about diagnostic tools such as CT colonography, which is fast, accurate and available.
3. Social Check – Share and Support
Start with the conversation with whanau, friends and colleagues. Normalising gut talk saves lives. Encourage some close to you to book their check-up or screening today.
Why Purex Supports Gut Health Awareness
As a staple in Kiwi households for 70 years, Purex plays a small part in everyday gut health routines and that makes our commitment to this cause personal. When people feel comfortable talking about toilet habits, they’re more likely to recognise early warning signs, seek support, and take action.
That’s why we’ve continued our partnership with the Gut Foundation NZ:
Whether it’s through educational initiatives, awareness campaigns, or making information more accessible, Purex is proud to champion gut health alongside the experts.
